Udacity, a leading online education platform, offers courses in cutting-edge tech skills. Initially focusing on individual learners, the platform has recently expanded to include products and courses for large enterprises and governments. As a Senior Designer, I contributed to Udacity’s strategic shift to an enterprise-first B2B SaaS business, supporting the comprehensive rebrand and driving design experimentation.
My role
As a senior designer within marketing, I played a pivotal role in evovling the visual language, user experience design and interaction design of the website. I worked on all aspects of the website including homepage, program catalogs, course overview pages and design system, providing a much needed foundation for the website. I also supported growth initiatives, integrated marketing campaigns and email design.
Forging futures in tech.
Outcome
At Udacity, I played a pivotal role in executing a site-wide rebrand, modernizing the website from its early 2010s aesthetic into a more contemporary digital experience. This rebrand coincided with a significant business shift where Udacity became largely enterprise-focused. Amidst these transformative changes, I provided design for numerous marketing campaigns, crafted landing pages, email marketing templates, and provided art direction for social assets.
A standout achievement was redesigning the course overview template, which drove an impressive 16% increase in checkout conversion rates and a 24% lift in new user CVR. Additionally, my efforts in creating efficiency-driving solutions, such as design templates and a web component library, significantly increased design speed while maintaining high-quality standards. These initiatives not only improved the look of the course pages but also significantly boosted revenue, enhancing overall website performance and user satisfaction.
